The latest project Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on for is to play the role of video gaming pioneer Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari. The first major breakthrough game for Atari was Pong, which I played for hours a day at the time. Who'd think a flat line paddle or two on the TV hitting a ball would be such a big hit?
Bushnell was also the founder of the Chuck E. Cheese pizza business.
Along with playing the Bushnell part, DiCaprio will also produce the film through his Appian Way production company. Paramount will perform the distribution duties for the project.
The film has been scripted by Craig Sherman and Brian Hecker. There is no other news at this time as far as others in the case or participating.
DiCaprio will seen soon in "House of Lies," as well as "Revolutionary Road."
