When talking at the Intel (Nasdaq:INTC) CEO Summit in San Francisco recently, Disney's Kevin Mayer, executive vice president of corporate strategy and business development, hinted that Disney (DIS) may soon add its video content to the increasingly popular Hulu video site, which now features content from News Corp. (NYSE:NWS-A) and NBC Universal (NYSE:GE).
"I think Hulu's a great site," Mayer said during a panel discussion about the future of entertainment. "We're not participating -- now. We have ongoing discussions, though, and we may [participate one day]."
What is holding things back at this time for both CBS (NYSE:CBS-A) and ABC has been the ad deals offered by Hulu at this time aren't as lucrative as those the networks have gotten with other online portals.
Until that is dealt with, we'll probably see the two companies remain on the sidelines in relationship to Hulu.
