Bai Ling evidently has a funny way at looking how her case in connection to shoplifting at the L.A. airport, as her charges were reduced to "disturbing the peace." She was fined $200, with an additional $500 in other penalties.
How she interprets that as being innocent is beyond me. As a matter of fact, her lawyers seem to have had the charges reduced from "petty theft" so it wouldn't affect her immigration status.
Ling did plead guilty to the charge of disturbing the peace.
Earlier in the incident, Ling gave the excuse of a relationship breaking up as the reason she shoplifted two magazines and some batteries. Seems she has trouble accepting responsibility for her action.
Of course from a marketing standpoint, this could have been a typical scripted situation where her handlers had her do it in order to keep her name in the public eye.
She's currently filming a Taylor Hackford film named "Love Ranch," where she plays a Nevada prostitute.
