The World of Warcraft continues on its attempt to conquer the Internet, as it has now reached its 10 millionth subscriber, after being launched at the end of 2004.
According to Blizzard Entertainment, the numbers break down to "World of Warcraft now hosts more than 2 million subscribers in Europe, more than 2.5 million in North America, and approximately 5.5 million in Asia."
To define what a subscriber is, Blizzard added that it includes those paying a subscription fee, having a prepaid WOW card, accessed the game in the last 30 days from an Internet cafe, or are playing the game for free within 30 days after purchasing it.
Places that WOW can now be accessed is China, North America, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Korea, Europe, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. Later in 2008 there is a Russian version slated for release.
It looks like there'll be nothing but growth for the company over the next several years.
