Knowing the tremendous opportunity available for growth through local search, Google (GOOG) is experimenting with ways to get the word out to potential targets.
On the Google blog they say millions of businesses either don't have websites, or if they do, they don't use search marketing in their strategies because of "lack the time, knowledge or resources."
To tap into that market they said they have 'partnered with companies including Yellow Pages directories, website developers and traditional media businesses to help create search-based ad products and strategies."
They also brought together a meeting of some of the best minds in the industry to tackle the challenge of how to bring about growth in the local business markets.
We've talked quite a bit at thealphamarketer about this as far as local businesses go, and the strategic opportunity available in offering local search as part of their marketing strategy.
With Google and their initiative here, what they're doing is trying to expand their Reseller base and through helping search engine marketers reach local businesses.
With that in mind, they encourage companies looking to the local business market as a revenue source to visit their Google AdWords Authorized Reseller site to find out what it's all about, or apply directly here.
