
Unsurprisingly, the online retail sector made significant inroads for the top 50 websites and unique visitors, as online shoppers gave a number of retailers big numbers for the month.
One thing that didn't change though, was Yahoo's (YHOO) continual dominance as the No. 1 visited site, as they kept their first place spot, generating 136 million unique visitors in November. Google (GOOG) finished at No. 2, getting 131 million unique visitors.
Microsoft (MSFT) was able to move into the No. 3 position, squeeking by Time Warner Network (TWX) with 119.2 million uniques.
The leading pure retail company was Wal-Mart (WMT), which surged up seven spots to end at the No. 13 position, drawing 42.5 million visitors. Their chief competitor Target (TGT) was right behind them at No. 14, getting almost 42 million visitors.
Embattled Circuit City Stores (CC) ended at No. 43, while J.C. Penney (JCP) wasn't far behind at No. 45.
Toy stores like ToysRus and moved up significantly, as well as KB Toys.
Websites that featured coupons also surged in November, as consumers were especially bargain hunting earlier than normal for the season.
Online retailers offering discounts on Black Friday and Cyber Monday also had solid gains for the month.
