Continuing to build on its family-focused Internet strategy, Walt Disney Internet Group (DIS) has acquired iParenting Media.
IParenting content includes a vast array of professional, as well as user-generated content, targeting those soon to become parents, along with young parents.
Managing director of Disney online, Paul Yanover, said concerning the acquistion, “IParenting has built a strong, trusted reputation among parents, and we feel the
site is a perfect complement to our overall portfolio of family-targeted, online brands. This acquisition builds on the successful launch of Disney Family.com earlier this year, and the ongoing success of FamilyFun.com and Wondertime.com, by broadening our content for parents to include information about pre-natal and new baby care.”
With the content and website, also comes the ISO 9001:2000-certified iParenting Media Awards, product review and awards program, which identifies the highest quality products in the children's media and juvenile product industry. Disney says the impartial awards program will continue on as a trusted resource for consumers and parents.
IParenting is based in Evanston, Illinois. All employees will remain with the company.
