
With the launch of its physical stores right around the corner, Tesco (TSCO.L) has opened up its U.S.-focused Web site "Fresh & Easy" to reinforce the November 8 countdown to opening. The company also operates a Fresh & Easy blog you can look at.
Tesco is the third-largest retailer in the world, and is based in Britain. Its niche is to offer "healthy, organic foods" at good prices, along with ready-made meals. In Britain they have 31 percent market share.

Tesco's physical stores have a look of an American convenience store, while boasting lower prices than the majority of competitors. The size of the stores average about 10,000 square feet.
For the near future, it looks like they'll compete directly with Trader Joe's and Whole Foods Market Inc. (WFMI). Even so, the bigger stores will keep a close watch on the company to see if it represents an underdeveloped U.S. food market like is asserted by some.
Tesco will roll out the stores first in Los Angeles, under the name of "Fresh & Easy."
