Radiohead who has received a ton of coverage for their offering of their latest album for whatever fans wanted to pay for it on their web site, have announced they're releasing the physical version of the "In Rainbows" album on December 31.
The release of the album will be through an independent label "XL Recordings," who also works with M.I.A. and White Stripes.
The U.S. release date of the physical album hasn't been decided yet, as the December 31 date will only be for international sales.
Along with the release of the album, which will include vinyl and CD, they will also release their single "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" on January 14.
Concerning the recent assertion by comScore that the "In Rainbows" digital experiment only had fans paying an average of only $6 per album, was debunked by a band representative, who said, "... as the album could only be downloaded from the band's Web site, it is impossible for outside organizations to have accurate figures on sales."
They added that comScore's numbers "in no way reflect definitive market intelligence or, indeed, the true success of the project."
