Paul McCartney says that the Beatles' music catalog should be online sometime in 2008.
Talking to Billboard.com, McCartney said "it's all happening soon. Most of us are all sort of ready. The whole thing is primed, ready to go -- there's just maybe one little sticking point left, and I think it's being cleared up as we speak, so it shouldn't be too long."
"It's down to fine-tuning, but I'm pretty sure it'll be happening next year, 2008," he added.
McCartney also said the two major things taking time to get the catalog online has been contract-related issues, but also wanting to take the time to plan and do it right. He said he didn't want to get it up and then regret doing it later on.
"You've got to get these things right," he said. "You don't want to do something that's as cool as that and in three years' time you think, 'Oh God, why did we do that?!"
McCartney in the mean time, is rolling out a three-DVD set featuring video from throughout his solo career, including commentary from him, along with some rare and unreleased material.
The new DVD-set, "The McCartney Years," will come out with an expanded edition of his recent album, "Memory Almost Full," which will include three bonus tracks, one which will be an instrumental "In Private," "Dance Tonight" and "Ever Present" videos, and last, a DVD from his summer concert at the Electric Ballroom in London.
