
The strategy by Hulu to become the place to go to launch your search for professional video, should end up paying great dividends for them as they attempt to become the portal of choice for consumers.
While the network obviously has a lack of programming from rivals and non-participants ABC (DIS) and CBS (CBS-A), getting people to come their to launch to their respective sites will be a big plus in persuading them to come on board with more programming on the site.
With advertising increasingly gravitating toward the Internet and quality video space, Hulu is positioned strongly to offer value to all those creating in this space.
The growing demand for a safe place for companies and agencies to advertise on Web video is also another big plus going ahead for Hulu and News Corp. (NWS-A) and NBC (GE) - who are partners in the effort.
This is one area where they could develop a long-term scale that is difficult to accomplish on the Internet. If they do it they're going to be tough to compete against, even with the plethora of companies emerging to offer online professional video.
