It looks like the revenue-sharing relationship between NBC (GE) and YouTube (GOOG) is officially over, as the channel and NBC clips can longer be found at the video-sharing site.
While it's not a surprise to see this happen, when the new video site dubbed "Hulu" was officially announced, it was stated that the video content would remain exclusive, while at the same time be distributed across the Internet. If that was to be true, why would NBC pull their stuff off YouTube?
This is probably the precursor to the video site launching, which is supposed to happen by the end of October.
With the NBC site being one of the more popular on YouTube, they could be making a statement on the success of YouTube tying into professional, copyrighted content.
Either way, it looks like News Corp. (NWS-A) and NBC are getting ready to offer their content on their new site. I think they'll have it exclusive for a time to see how it goes and to get people coming to that site, before they start syndicating it across the web.
