Google (GOOG) is about to begin distributing video across the web, including ads with them in an attempt to monetize their YouTube video catalog.
As with the videos they've been showing on the YouTube site, it'll be a small representation of mostly professional video that will be included in the project at the beginning.
Over 100 video content providers will partner with Google to distribute the videos. Some of those participating in the beginning are Expert Village, Mondo Media, TV Guide Broadband and Extreme Elements.
Those involved have signed a consent form allowing their content to be spread across the Web.
The ads themselves won't be video, but will be a graphic display next to the video or a link along the bottom.
Current Adsense users will reportedly be able to sign up for the video content, and choose what types of videos they want to be put on their pages.
As usual, the ad revenue will be shared with content providers, the Web site and Google.
