
Data released by research firm Nielsen//NetRatings shows Microsoft (MSFT) had the largest Internet audience in the US for the month of August. They beat out Google (GOOG) by a little over 1 million. The data is based on all the web properties of the companies in the study.
As far as stickiness on their web properties, Time Warner (TWX) came in first by quite a bit over second place Yahoo (YHOO), averaging almost 4 hours monthly per user. Yahoo finished with an average of 3:20 per each user.
Google finished with about 6 million more visitors than Yahoo, but averaged 1:40 per user for the month. All of this is specifically US users for all the statistics.
