Brightcove is moviing its video portal to a new website called Brightcove.tv, so they can focus the Brightcove.com site on being a video technology platform.
Concerning the video portal, Brightcove vp of marketing and strategy Adam Berrey said, "It's something that runs itself. We are not trying to become the next YouTube."
Instead, company resources will be shifted to the technology platform, realizing their greatest business opportunities lie there.
"We moved the consumer guide so we can better manage how we communicate with consumers and publishers," Berry added. "We're really focusing our business on the white label on-demand platform that lets content owners publish video."
Now the Brightcove.com site will be a place where companies can get their video infrastructure developed, along with syndicated offerings.
The Brightcove blog said, "We made the domain shift so we could separate the consumer video guide from our publishing partner marketing and communication."
