The End of LonelyGirl15 ... or a New Beginning?

In the case of Jessica Lee Rose, who plays Bree the popular Web show, it will be both. Her character Bree was killed off in the final episode of the online season, as a religious cult who had been hunting her for her rare blood type which produced life-giving results, caught up with her.

The last scene of the show had Bree lying dead on a table as one of the elders of the cult was having her blood transfused to his body.

Lonelygirl15%20Jessica%20Lee%20Rose.jpgFor the show, the new beginning is already upon fans, as Lonelygirl15 set to start again on Monday in its second season.

Setting up the beginning of the second season was the voice of Bree in a voice mail warning that the cult, called The Order, is pursuing other girls who have the same blood properties. The new season will start with the remaining characters discussing what to do with Brees' warning.

One of the three writer-producers of the show, Miles Beckett,  said concerning killing of Bree: "This was a character who was meant to do the ceremony. It's going to give the show a lot more space to breathe. Jessica is doing other things now, and we are excited about her future and her career."

For Jessica, she has had a number of opportunities arise during the 260 episodes of the show, and is now a regular guest on the ABC Family show "Greek," and has a role in the upcoming film "Perfect Sport."

She is also developing a Web comedy that is scheduled to launch later this year.

Along with her fellow Internet stars Stevie Ryan and Taryn Southern, Rose will also be on a TV project called "E-lebrity."

I don't know from a marketing standpoint if the creators of the show did things deliberately or by accident, but it was brilliant in its results. I'm talking about the buzz created when people started to suspect the show was more than a teenager uploading video of their life story.

People starting hunting down the sources until they were discovered, which did more to market the show than anything before. What was more amazing, when it was found to be a scripted show, it didn't bother fans as they continued to watch it in droves.
