Just one day after the beating of televangelist Juanita Bynum, another problem is revealed in the celebrity Chrisian world, as Paula White and husband Randy White announced Thursday night they are ending their 18-year marriage.
The two described their breakup as "amicable," and added infidelity wasn't part of the reason.
White is another protege of T.D. Jakes, who was also played a major role in the rise of Juanita Bynum. It's an odd coincedence that these two circumstances happened one day apart.
Paula White, who was together with her husband when they made the announcement on the stage of Without Walls International Church, which they founded in 1991, said "This has been an ongoing process and journey. But God is always faithful. God always carries you through the dark places of life."
This revisits the post yesterday where we talked about whether it's a good thing to market "Christian ministries" as if they're a business.
It also generates the question of whether "celebrity" should be a part of the Christian world, as far as it pertains to alleged ministers.
