For fans of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," you won't have to wait to get a glimpse of the crazy characters in the show. FX has teamed with MySpace (NWS-A) to stream the episode "Mac Is a Serial Killer" on the profile page from August 16-23. The show isn't set to premiere this year until September 13.
The reason for taking the show from the summer to the fall is Nielsen is now measuring college viewing as part of its statistics.
"It's a perfect fit demographically," said FX marketing exec VP Stephanie Gibbons. "The viewers have been clamoring, especially online, asking when the new episodes were finally coming."
Gibbons added FX is reaching out primarily to the core 18-34 demorgaphic in promoting the show. They are also launching a college bus tour, visiting eight college campus markets. They will start on August 24 at U.C. Berkeley.
