LonelyGirl15 has come a long way from its start last year when it was at first believed to be a true video blog by a home schooled girl. After some people did some digging, it was of course found to be a scripted series, but not by Hollywood as some had thought.
That has done nothing to stop the growth of the show as this year it has appeared online in its first season. On Friday, beginning in the morning, the show will end the season by having 12 one-hour shows throughout the day.
Fans won't have to wait to find out what next season will be like, as the following Monday season two will begin.
The finale on Friday will air exclusively on MySpaceTV and the LonelyGirl15 Web site.
Another interesting point, is the show has a spin-off series called "Kate Modern," which plays on British social networking site Bebo.
One of the creators, Greg Goodfried, talking about the series said, "We were the first ones to tell stories using social networks and the tools they have on their platforms. Our goal has been to continue doing that and pushing the envelope and staying ahead of the pack. We have the freedom of not asking a network executive, `What do we do now?'"
Jessica Lee Rose, who calls New Zealand home, has received great exposure from her original role, and is now repped by the CAA, and has played consistently on the ABC Family series "Greek," and also in the recent film with Lindsay Lohan "I Know Who Killed Me."
For the series, they've also signed a product placement deal with Neutrogena in June for a couple months.
