
Data from Hitwise shows that videogames site ClubPenguin.com, which was acquired last week by Disney (DIS) has grown by 329 percent from June of 2006 to June of 2007, and is the 131st most visited website in the US for June 2007. It's up 56 percent for the year so far from January through June.
The only other website of this type targeting 6-14-year-olds ahead of Club Penquin as far as visits go is Webkinz. The other two popular destination coming in behind Club Penquin are Stardoll and Habbo Hotel.
Club Penguin includes 12 million users who have activated the basic version of the site, with 700,000 dishing out $5.95 monthly for the premium features.
For June the site received 4.7 million unique visitors.
Disney paid $350 million for the business, it could grow to $700 million or more if certain profit goals are reached.
