MySpace (NWS-A) and Dark Horse Comics announced at Comic-Con International in San Diego they are partnering to bring back the popular "Dark Horse Presents" comic series and bring it online together.
Called "MySpace Dark Horse Presents," it will draw on the original anthology for its inspiration.
Included in the series will be original content from by many of the top artists and creatives. It will be exclusive to MySpace and is available now.
The physical print comic series was run from 1986 to 2000. Included in the anthology were Frank Miller's Sin City and Paul Chadwick's Concrete. They eventually became popular enough to be made into their own comics.
According to their press release, here are the comics included in the premiere online edition:
Sugar Shock, the debut new comic from artist Fabio Moon and Joss Whedon, creator of the popular television shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly, and author of the highly successful Dark Horse Comics miniseries, Fray, among others
The Umbrella Academy by artist Gabriel Ba and Gerard Way, lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance
Samurai by Ron Marz and Luke Ross
Comic-Con Murder Mystery by Rick Geary
Site editors of MySpace and Darkhorse said they'll search across MySpace profiles to find talented amateurs to be featured in every upcoming issue. Every first week of the month a new issue will be released. The next release will be due in the first week of September.
