With an increasingly large amount of companies starting to create profiles on the Mashable social network, the company has decided to make a clear distinction between the two.
Starting last week, the signup page on the site will include a company option for firms to sign up under.
Along with making the distinction between personal and corporate profiles will be the added focus on companies and their needs on the network. Mashable said on their site that they'll soon have tools for companies to "aggregate company news" on their profile page.
They added, "Creating personal profiles for members of your company is perfectly fine too. You can add pretty much anything in the About section..."
This is a good move to head off any problems for users who would have concerns about the growing professional side of the network. It also helps the companies and makes them feel included in the overall process and site by offering them tools along with being recognized distinctly as a company.
