Last March we talked about Next New Networks hiring former Nickelodeon president Herb Scannell to get its new launch of micro video websites up and running.
So far he's done great by them, as the company already has its third niche video site reach the 1 million stream mark in a month. The site, Indy Mogul, which focuses on independent films, achieved its first million video streams in June. The
two other sites already accomplishing this are VOD Cars and Channel Frederator.
“We have always said that we are audience people and the beauty of our online networks is that we have a direct relationship with this audience and know in real time if something is working,” said Scannell, the company’s CEO. “And, in the case of Indy Mogul, the audience has spoken. It’s a hit.”
The company has said they're looking to have 20 video sites up and running by the end of the year, and 101 sites over the next five years.
Next News Networks has strong financial backing in former MTV Networks co-founder Bob Pittman, Spark Captital and Saban Capital.
