
The most popular TV network in Brazil and YouTube (GOOG) have partnered to offer content from the network on it new Brazilian Web site. Globo has its home in Rio de Janeiro.
Commenting on the deal, Google's Brazilian representative Alexandre Hohagen said the deal will empower YouTube to offer video content from the large TV broadcaster.
Hohagen also said that will bring more credibility to YouTube in Brazil with the continuing copyright infringement cases being brought against it. The first content to be offered from the broadcaster will be "Malhacao" - a soap opera.
YouTube has announced it is creating targeted sites in other countries to deliver a local flavor to the respective cultures they're appearing in.
In Brazil, the new site will be on web portals Terra and IG.
