YouTube (GOOG) is making a strong move on the international front as it is about to launch versions of the site in nine countries.
Getting a site connected directly to each country and languages will be U.K., Ireland, Spain, Poland, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Brazil and Japan.
"We want to create a YouTube experience that is a local experience. Local sites that not only promote their communities but also speak their language," said YouTube co-founder Steve Chen.
The major motivator behind this is to create localized niche markets that can be tapped into in a way that will increase revenue possibilities for the company.
YouTube already draws some revenue internationally from France 24, BBC, Al-Jazeera in Qatar and Antena 3 in Spain.
It'll be interesting to see if move also brings other copyright violation problems with it.
