The Top Chef reality show has attracted a number of sponsors this year, including heavyweights The Glad Products Company and Toyota.
Bravo has enlisted Glad as the exclusive sponsor in their product category, and they will provide the $100,000 grand prize for Top Chef 3: Miami. Glad will also sponsor several “Watch What Happens” Webisodes on BravoTV.com.
Toyota will be used as the transportation for the chefs, as they offer their crossover model RAV 4 SUVs for that purpose. Along with Glad, they'll also help market the Top Chef Foodie Flyaway sweepstakes.
Other brands that will be integrated into the show are Red Robin, Merch/Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals, Breville, Cold Stone Creamery, Bombay Sapphire and Evian Natural Spring Water.
Food & Wine editor Gail Simmons will be returning as a regular judge, while this seasons winner will be included in one of the Food & Wine mags articles.
I do like the possibilities and potential, across all mediums, of sponsorships and product placement. Online, it's something that needs to be experimented and tinkered with in a much larger way.
The new Top Chef series will being on June 13 at 10 p.m. ET.
