
For the month of May, the New York Times (NYT) was the leading traditional online newspaper in unique visitors, drawing 12,755,000. That's almost a million less though than they drew in April's 13,735,000 unique visitors, according to Nielsen.
The USATODAY.com site was over 3 million behind in second place with 9,528,000.
For the Washingtonpost.com website, they finished in third place with 8,613,000 unique visitors for May, but the good news for them is they gained on their April numbers, and are going in the right direction.
The west coast's LA Times newspaper site came in at fourth place with 5,828,000 uniques.
For The Wall Street Journal (DJ), they enjoyed a surge for the month of May, as they found themselves back in the No. 5 position, drawing 4,356,000 unique visitors to the site.
Among the top 30 online newspapers, the winner for the most time spent per person on the site was the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where people averaged over 32 minutes a visit navigating the Web newspaper site.
