Fresh off his successful online run of his short-form video series "Prom Queen," Michael Eisner and his online production company Vuguru is partnering with Dinosaur Diorama Productions to create a new web series based on a fictional indie rock band.
This will be an interesting change from Eisner's "Prom Queen" in that it will go well beyond the 90 second episode length of that series, to run in 7 to 10 minute episode segments.
The fictional "The All-For-Nots" will be shown in a mockumentary type of style where they are shown to struggle on their tour around the U.S., that is poorly planned to say the least.
With Eisner giving the green light to the production, he said Dinosaur Diorama has a track record of producing the type of interesting, unique content that fits into their strategy of providing video content that can be distributed cross-platform.
Heading up the series will be Thom Woodley and Kathleen Grace, who through Dinosaur Diorama created the online series "The Burg," which enjoyed some Internet success.
Vuguru also announced it will offer a second installment of "Prom Queen" this August called "Prom Queen Summer Heat."
What is important to me about "The All-For Nots" isn't the content, but how Internet viewers take to the episode lengths; whether they'll stick with it over the length of the production. It'll give video creators and marketers some valuable insight into what people are willing to do with this type of production length.
