In a deal with Pluck, Internet Broadcasting will offer up more user-generated content to the Websites of local TV stations, according Mediaweek.
People will get access to Pluck's SiteLife service which offers them the tools to build their own blog, share photos and ultimately enable them to upload their personal videos to the website of the station. It is currently being tested at NBC affiliate WXII-TV, and will be used at 40 station websites very soon.
This will become of the media landscape in the not-too-distant future as TV stations continually draw on citizen journalists to make up part of their online broadcasts.
Other statiions are also doing this as LIN TV is working with VMIX in a similar deal, which will include 10 stations with these types of tools by July, with all the stations having them by September.
