Sometimes it's hard to distinguish between planned public outrage initiated by publicists, and where the actions encouraged cross the lines of the law which result in unintended consequences. That's the latest part of the continuing saga that is Paris Hilton.
While her "dumb rich girl" brand keeps on working, she will be heading to jail to serve her jail sentence for violating the terms of her probation. Oh, in the mean, time she'll be working on here prison memoirs for her fans who miss her for those 23 days.
One source says, "Paris' prison diary will make a more dramatic read than Martha Stewart's. If she can make it believable, and not exaggerate too much, she might expect to make a million dollars out of it."
Evidently Paris will spend her time writing (can she write?) a diary of her time spent in the slammer.
Probably the most cruel and unusual punishment for the heiress will be the denial of interviews in prison during her stay. What will the gossip columnists do for three weeks?
Still the Paris pushers continue to do their job as she has enhanced and renewed her brand again as she was falling in the coverage she was getting from the past. I wonder what new deed she'll be encouraged to perform as she has to bring something more outrageous to the table as Paris fatigue grows?
In the mean time, she and her handlers have managed to buy her another round of publicity as her "prison memoirs" are expected to sell good.
