
Nielsen//NetRatings has released a new tool called VideoCensus which will allow users to measure and gather data from online video. The new service will allow you to know how many people have viewed the video, demographic makeup and how the video is being interacted with.
How it works is you apply a NetRatings code to your video delivery platform and from their NetRatings is able to gather data on the various viewing activity that's taking place. It's especially made for syndicated video.
"By harnessing the unique strengths of both panel and Web analytics measurement
tools, we have a 'best of breed' service that can be used for planning and post analysis on the Internet," said Manish Bhatia, executive vice president, NetRatings.
They claim it is able to measure any method of video streaming now available.
