National Lampoon, Inc.'s (NLN) Chief Executive Officer Daniel Laikin announced today the formation of the National Lampoon Video Network, which will feature some of the leading content platforms on the Internet.
“Formation of the National Lampoon Video Network reinforces our commitment to the marketplace, to original comedy content, and to our young adult audience,” Laikin said. “Our ability to come out of the gate with such a prestigious, broad-based group of distribution partners also reflects a clear acknowledgement that we, our brand, and our content are highly valuable and relevant today.”
The company does have an impressive list of distribution partners lined up at the launch; which includes Veoh, Joost, Handheld Entertainment (ZVUE), GoFish (GOFH), Lycos, BiggyTV and YouTube (GOOG). They already had distribution deals in place with Brightcove and AOL Video (TWX).
This is an ad-supported video network, and so will be free to consumers. There will be both long and short-form online video streams available across the world for broadband users.
