Earlier this year, Monster Worldwide Inc. (MNST), parent of Monster.com entered into a deal with the New York Times (NYT) co-brand with the company's 19 newspaper Web sites.
The company has already launched co-branded sites with two of the "Times" Florida newspaper Web sites, along with the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. Now they've created the first major marketing area site as they launched a co-branded site with Boston.com and The Boston Globe.
The Boston.com site is one of the largest with 4 million unique monthly visitors; the largest in the New England area says Nielsen. The New York Times receives around 13 millino unique monthly visitors, which makes it the most visited newspaper site in America.
With the New York Times deal Monster gets access to the smaller and medium-sized businesses within local markets, while the "Times" gets an increase in Internet traffic all across its web properties.
