
CBS (CBS-A) is the newest arrival to Web TV syndication company Brightcove, which has made deals with other media companies like MTV Networks, Discovery and Dow Jones.
Brightcove offers ad-supported video to approved Web publishers which can then be embedded in their Web sites.
"This partnership underscores CBS News' ongoing strategy of making our programming available on multiple platforms, while also generating additional revenue," said Sean McManus, President, CBS News and Sports.
Various clips from CBS' news programs will be included in the deal, such as The Early Show, CBS Evening News with Katie Couric ... among others.
Brightcove CEO Jeremy Allaire added that he was “excited to be chosen by CBS News as the syndication platform to grow an audience of website affiliates who will carry the latest news to Internet audiences around the globe."
The network added that plans are in the works to offer up original, Internet-exclusive content as well.
