In a recent survey from the Luxury Institute, it confirms that marketing online to wealthy Americans is a growing success.
The study indicates that Americans with higher incomes actually hang around blogs and social networks more than the general population.
The survey revealed that a large 76% of wealthy Americans are reading blogs. That's an increase of almost 20 percent for a 2005 study that showed about 57 percent did.
In the report it also said that about 25 percent of the general American population reads blogs. Don't be discouraged if you serve the general population though, 25 percent of them is a lot larger than 76 percent of the wealthy.
Another interesting statistic is that more wealthy Americans use instant messaging in comparison the general public as well, with 55 percent using the technology versus 39 percent of the regular users.
As far as social networking sites go, 31 percent of wealthy Americans are interacting with them, while only 16 percent of the general population does.
Wealthy Americans, as defined by the study were those that made at least $150,000 or more a year.
What all of this means is that we need to consider at least having some high-end products on our blogs or networking sites that include high-quality photos of video.
Don't be shy about having some products or services that are priced for those who use them. It's expected by the wealthy.
If you're a marketer, you need to take a more serious look at blogs and social networks as a means to advertise your quality goods.
