With the purchase of PersonalBee by Technorati, it offers users the opportunity essentially build their own portal connected to the interests you have.
Dave Sifry on his blog said, "For content creators and brands, recreational and professional alike, this will offer a whole other range of benefits. The Bee platform makes it quick and easy (turnkey, if you will) to create and deploy conversational and informative micro-sites full of dynamic and engaging blog posts, videos, photos, podcasts, and more. It allows these folks to foster communities quickly, and it'll give them the tools to monitor and manage the ebb and flow of information at their discretion."
In it's simplicity it's basically online scrapbooking built around the content that others create. You just collect the parts that you want and bring them to your mini-portal.
"This is a step into social marketing, social networking," said Steve Hayden, vice chairman of Ogilvy and Mather, Technorati's agency partner. "The challenge has been getting enough versatility, editorial control and level of automation so the
kinds of feeds you get are on brand."
Technorati will also add a tool so that sites can be promoted. Feeds will be dynamically fed into ad units that are then able to be linked to site that have been created with the new platform.
