NBC (GE) has had a lot of success on its NBC.com site with its usual late-night content from its popular Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, and Last Call With Carson Daly. Now they're going further with the site as they have added some interactive features for users to play with.
One that I especially like is the one they've called "Backstage," where visitors will be given access to behind-the-scenes footage of Saturday Night Live. There seems to be an endless demand for this type of viewing and this should be no different.
"The late-night content is consistently popular on the site, and these additions are going to keep fans coming back for more," said Vivi Zigler, evp, NBC digital entertainment and new media.
Another addition I like is the "Tonight Show" channel where you can watch original content and look at photos of "Jay Leno's Garage." This will also include a look behind-the-scenes.
They are also adding user-generated capabilities where users can upload their own videos on the "Weekend Update" section and star in their own show.
If you have any thought of marketing through video online, one thing I'd think of doing would be to offer a behind-the-scenes look at how you did it, in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way. People simply love this, and it could actually do better than the original video you market with.
