ESPN (DIS) announced that it has bought the extremely popular National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing information site, Jayski.com.
The site, which was started by Jay Adamczyk - who is Jayski - in 1996, has become one of the top racing sites online, and has gained a strong reputation for breaking stories related to the industry and as a trusted resource for NASCAR fans. Adamczyk will continue to run the site.
Visitors to the site include a Who's Who of the racing world with owners, drivers and crew chiefs among those that consistently visit the site.
The sports network has already had a relationship with Jayski.com, hosting the site since 2004. Adamczyk and his partner Mark Garrow will also be contributors across the various ESPN platforms for all things NASCAR.
The site itself is deep in content, as it claims to have over 1,500 pages on the NASCAR Nextel Cup, Truck Series and the Busch Series.
Along with its popular Jayski’s NASCAR News and Rumors section, are the heavily visited Jayski Paint Scheme and Team pages portion of the site. The site will remain an independent voice of ESPN.com it says, while complementing the editorial section.
