ViTrue is finding its niche as they have partnered with a number of big media companies to provide user-generated advertising platforms for them.
The major site they've developed, called "talentload.tv," was used to promote the upcoming Warner Bros. (TWX) film "Music and Lyrics" which stars Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. They inititated a contest for viewers to create and upload their versions of original love songs. The response was that 400 videos were submitted from hopefuls and it generated over a million page views. Online voters will determine the winner who will then be flown to Los Angeles to see the movie premiere and have their song recorded professionally.
VH1 and MTV are also using the platform to see which reality shows will work
before they're broadcast. MTV is also filtering music acts through the system for the fourth season of P. Diddy show "Making the Band."
Fred Graver, executive producer of VH1's "Best Week Ever," said, "Through our partnership with ViTrue, we were able to quickly create a site that empowers us to collaborate with our audiences and have them contribute to our network and our partners' properties in ways never before possible."
ViTrue CEO Reggie Bradford
According to ViTrue founder and CEO Reggie Bradford, demand for the firm's user-generated platform is growing quickly. "We're seeing a major sprouting of these types of sites across all media companies, whether they're trying to find new comedians or bands or are getting consumers involved in programming,"
I hope for you that read these types of stories, that you don't just consider them news for consumption. I write these things to show you what other marketers are doing and provide you with ideas to stimulate the various marketing campaigns that you may launch as a result.
It's not so much that we need to use the specific companies mentioned, the idea is to look behind what they're doing and find what will work for you and adapt and adjust it accordingly. Within this post itself there are a lot of ideas you could take and use. It's the reasons behind the campaigns, not the specifics of the campaigns, that are important to us.
