In a growing partnership with Verizon (VZ), Revver, an online video service will have the content on their site offered to Verizon subscribers of their new FiOS TV service and its Surround broadband entertainment portal.
What Verizon offers through its FiOS TV service is the ability for subscribers to have access to the Internet, regular TV, their own private music and photo collections and Revver videos, all through a single media-management system.
“Revver prides itself on attracting the very best digital video creators who are producing entertainment for the Internet today,” said Steven Starr, founder and CEO of Revver. “The initiative will help us further support our creators by bringing their content to a whole new TV audience.”
Creators of the videos will receive a 50/50 sharing of revenue with Revver.
Revver already has a deal to provide videos on Verizon V CAST. Verizon asserts that this makes them the only online video service that offers users access to three distribution channels: TV, mobile and broadband Internet.
