For the last several months, Microsoft (MSFT) has been in beta concerning its version of a video-upload service to compete against YouTube (GOOG).
Today on the LiveSide blog it was announced that it will now go into public beta so anybody can now try out the service by going to the Soapbox site.
Soapbox is similar to YouTube and other video upload sites in that you can upload videos in just about any digital video format, still it also lets you tag and categorize them so others can find them.
One key differentiator that Soapbox will offer is the ability to search for other videos while you're watching another one on the same screen, something YouTube
doesn't offer.
It's interesting to note that Microsoft branded Soapbox under the MSN name rather than Live, which many people believe Microsft will replace MSN branded services with.

Actually, LiveSide is not affiliated with Microsoft in any way.
