Looking to expand its broadcast audience, Fox Television (NWS-A) has partnered with Critical Mention to offer video clips for distribution to bloggers and others to whom it may apply, according a recent press release.
The idea is to offer video clips to blogs and Web sites that deal with specific topics which the video would fit in with. While the obvious example would be blogs and sites that talk about movies that would then embed clips into the site for interested visitors, it would also apply to any niche topic or content that Fox has video clips on.
The network is offering content owners an ad-supported model and will share the ad revenue.
The process for this model has been slow in developing because of the issues related to measuring of online video across decentralized networks and working out contracts in implementing the deals.
Depending on what Fox has available, it could be a welcome addition to a site for adding rich media and another means of monetization. Check the syndication info and news release here.
