In a move to expand their social networking business, Yahoo (YHOO) purchased MyBlogLog for a reportedly $10 million, according to Online Media Daily citing Forbes.
The service was launched in July and has created communities around a number of well-known blogs.
MyBlogLog has grown to 25,000 blog readers and has 38,000 bloggers. The daily page views to the site range from 10 to 12 million daily Yahoo says.
Commenting on their continuing foray into social networks, Chad Dickerson, senior director of the Yahoo Developer Network said that "Taken together, these vibrant
Web communities continue to provide Yahoo with a deeper understanding of communities and user activity that reach beyond the Yahoo network."
Dickerson added that Yahoo has no plans to make any changes to MyBlogLog in the near future and will treat it as a separate brand.
