In an ongoing process, Time magazine is going through another overhaul of its Web site as it is giving itself a cleaner look while adopting more blogs, breaking news and analysis.
Part of the changes in their look are for the purpose of being able to offer a better way of showing their photos and to make more space for advertisers.
"Time has had a fluctuating online strategy, and there have been moments when it's been really, really good and moments when it's been really bad," said Time.com Editor Josh Tyrangiel.
Their changes concerning breaking news will entail a more consistent updating and analyzing of the news; a more up-to-date focus.
The addition last year of Andrew sullivan and Ana Marie Cox was the first of a number of blogs they now plan on rolling out in an expanded way.
There will be a new blog on the Middle East which will be run by correspondents Scott MacLeod and Andrew Butters. Susie Jakes and Bill Powell will have a blog on China while there will be an Intelligence column that Robert Baer, a retired CIA operative will contribute on. Finally there there will a blog connected to the arts, photography and architecture and written by Tim art critic Richard Lacayo.
Tyrangiel added that with the blogs they haven't been run well as posters haven't written on a consistent basis, now with the changes they will be expected to contribute at least two posts a day to their blogs.
