The First Ad Copy Weapon of Choice - The Headline - 32

This next headline deals with simply being human and making mistakes. We no that while no one likes to make mistakes, they will inevitably come. What people respond to is offers that helps them to keep mistakes to a minimum in what they're attempting to do.

These are the types of headlines that can be tweaked alot to get them to say the benefit in reading on. Here's a few ways you could write headlines for those seeking ways to minimize their mistakes:

People understand that not all mistakes can be avoided. Most are looking for ways to limit the common mistakes that those with experience have learned, and avoiding having to go through trial-and-error as others have.

That's the power behind these types of headlines in that they help people to be able to save time and effort through the products you offer them to deal with these issues.

This ends our part of learning ad copy as it relates to writing headlines. The most important thing to take away from it isn't the templates and ways of writing headlines, but understanding what it is behind the headlines that make people want to continue to read on into your copy.

The reason that's so important is that no matter how many templates you get from others, there may be some that you need to create that deal specifically with the demographic you serve. The templates and ideas listed here, or anywhere else, need to be understood as simply a map that can be loosely followed.

You know your customers better than anybody and who you're trying to reach. It's always the underlying motive that people need and want that determines the headline you write. That's where the real power originates from. Hold all of the headlines and templates with an open hand and mind, and don't be afraid to adapt them as you need to.
