It looks like Google (GOOG) is quietly rolling out a test campaign trying out some in-stream video ads on "The Charlie Rose Show" which is hosted by Google on their site.
As of now they are inserting the ads at the three minute mark and about a half hour into the 60 minute show. Once you allow the ad to begin it can't be stopped, but you are given an opportunity to skip it before it loads. This is a change for Google Video as it would only offer post-roll ads before.
It's a little surprising in that Google had announced at a conference in November that they would be looking for other means of monetizing their video than through in-stream offerings.
While they did say that, I think that this had to be tried. Some people have said they don't want this, but more have said in certain circumstances, especially those that don't want to pay subscription fees to consume content, don't mind instream advertising as a trade-off.
