The British Broadcasting Corporation says that they have plans to grow its online presence by beginning to include social networking sites connected to some of their strongest brands like Top Gear, a spokeswoman for the company said.
She added that "If appropriate social networking opportunities arise, then we would look at them very seriously, because it's a growing area of business that we're not particularly in at the moment."
The strategy will be to build more interactivity between consumers and their top brands that there already is a large interest in; specifically like their motoring show
and BBC Good Food.
The BBC web site has grown strong after heavy investment in the initiative. Unique visitors a month are at 14.5 million. The government funded company has been allocated the up to 350 million pounds of borrowing power for its commercial businesses.
