Beginning on January 18, users of AOL (TWX) will be able to watch a live stream of the QVC TV Live show; whatever is being seen on TV will be able to be watched in real-time on the AOL portal.
This will be AOLs first live TV network that it has as part of its programming and online video initiative.
There will also be included as part of the service, the ability to select individual clips that can be streamed on demand. It will offer over 400 unique short-forms that will show things from the top episodes and events.
"QVC is one of the largest television networks in the U.S. and offering its live and on demand channels is a great addition to the broad array of content that is available on AOL Video," said Fred McIntyre, senior vp of AOL Video. "Now, with the launch of the QVC TV Live channel on AOL Video, consumers are just a mouse click away from the most current products featured on QVC, even when they're away from their home TV."
With web surfers being a spontaneous bunch, this could work well for both parties. Terms of the deal were not released.
