
Sling Media, recently forming a new media entertainmeent group, signed up former MTV digital executives Jason Hirschhorn and Benjamin White, to lead the division. Hirschhorn with be the president and White the chief creative officer, according Media Online Daily.
The company is known in the industry for its Slingbox, which enables users to watch satellite or cable TV on their mobiles or laptops.
Hirschhorn said that "We're taking what Slingbox already does to another level, our focus is to bring the less interactive to the highly interactive, and make it a completely unified experience."
They seem to be developing new software and hardware-based applications centered around the interoperability of the various devices.
White was the vice president of digital media at MTV, while Hirshhorn was chief digital officer of MTV Networks. They'll report directly to Sling Media co-founder and CEO Blake Krikorian.
