If you're considering marketing in the growing virtual world space, MarketingProfs is offering a virtual tour of Second Life on January 11, to show what this means to interested marketers.
The DailyFix blog mentions that it will be a called, "'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Metaverse: Second Life for Marketers,' hosted by emerging-media evangelist Greg Verdino, will take marketers inside the metaverse for a glimpse into life there."
While a number of companies have entered into the Second Life world and are experiementing within it, the vast majority of companies and marketers really don't have any clue of what the expanding virtual world has to offer, and the best way to interact in it.
Verdino says: “Sure Second Life is hot but what are the real opportunities for brand marketers and how can you get your head around what those opportunities might be? In fact, now that the buzz is beginning to subside, should you even care about this anymore? The answer is yes, but probably not for the reasons you think…”
This is definitely worth taking a look at. There are just too many people entering into this experience to not learn what it can do to enhance our brands. It will offer insight into what we need to think about before making a decision or not to enter it.
Mark off January 11 on your calender and have a good look and training on what the real opportunites here are.
